Nutberry gas springs have an unparalleled reputation for reliablity and are the most technically advanced product available.

 

In September 1991, independent proof testing of Nutberry and their competitors' gas springs were undertaken by Flogates Limited. All the units were raised to 525°C (977°F) and then hot cycled. The results were:

One of the Nutberry gas springs was further cycled to destruction. The gas spring achieved a total of 1530 cycles.

 

Inorder to be able to achieve this level of reliability, Nutberry have developed their own multi-ply bellows for use in their gas springs.

 

Nutberry Gas Springs are the only gas springs with a guarantee.

PLATE LIFE

Users of Nutberry Gas Springs have achieved a higher plate life by controlling the force applied to them and giving them a more evenly distributed force.
NO COOLING MEDIUM REQUIRED Once the operating temperatures have been established and the correct Nutberry Gas Springs installed, it is possible to operate the gate valve without the introduction of a cooling medium. Thus further reducing operating costs.
REDUCED OXYGEN/NITROGEN
PICK UP
Being able to operate without a cooling medium assists the production of clean steel by providing an oxygen and nitrogen free atmosphere in the area of the refractory plate.
HIGHER SAFE OPERATING TEMPERATURE Gas Springs operate at temperatures above those possible with coiled springs, keeping gate valve mechanisms safer should there be a temporary shortage of cooling medium.

The quality of Nutberry TDEs is such that although the Nutberry TDEs are designed and guaranteed to operate at temperatures upto 500°C, in many cases they have been used at temperatures in excess of this as can seen below.
